Using FIXMYTAX?

How do I become a client with FixMyTax?

You can register with us to become a client by email to tax@fixmytax.com

Each service is delivered as a self contained module for a fee which is agreed with you before we commence. The process is in three stages:

1) We will carry out a preliminary discussion and research of your tax issues, to determine your requirements and to agree how we can be of assistance to you as our client.  

2) We will then plan the service and issue you with an engagement letter setting out the work that we have agreed to do as part of the assignment, the terms and conditions that we have agreed to operate under and the fee for the job.

3) Execute the assignment, obtain the results and furnish the report and make any official filings that are required.

All work carried out is subject to an approved engagment, terms and conditions and an agreed fee before we commence.

Note; First Time Clients:

If it is the first time that we work with you, as with all new clients, you are required to register with us and, like all financial institutions, solicitors and accountants, you are required to give us evidence of identity under money laundering regulations:

    • Passport or Drivers' Licence
    • Utility Bill  and
    • a document from the Revenue Commissioners with your PPS number.
    • a recent bank statement

We accept all your documents in scanned formats by email or on disk.

Note; Consultations

Exploratory or preliminary consultations are free.

Formal consultations, where contracted for, are subject to a formal engagement terms and conditions and a fee will be charged on the basis of time involved in carrying out the project.

How do I make contact with FIXMYTAX?

To avail of the services of FIXMYTAX.com, email us at tax@fixmytax.com with your name address and a brief description of your business and queries arising. 

We will make contact by email or telephone to discuss your requirements and the tax advisory and compliance services that we have on offer.

Neither FixMyTax nor any of its staff are permitted to give investment evaluation services and other investment advice and services that are regulated by the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority (ISFRA).

Can we assist you in start a business?

If you wish to form a new business, we assist by helping you to choose between the most appropriate legal forms of business most suitable for you, for example:

  1. an unincorporated business with one person as a sole trader or
  2. an unincorporated busines with two or more people in partnership or
  3. incorporate a Limited Company

Will I need to change accountants?

It is not necessary to change accountants, should you wish to avail of our tax advisory services only.

However, we do offer a full range of audit and accounting services and you wish to change accountant and tax agent for whatever reason, professional or otherwise, you will be required to observe the following protocols:

  1. Give the former accountant or tax agent permission to communicate with us and to release the continuation documents to us.
  2. Where there are fees remaining unpaid, you will be required to reach a settlement with the retiring accountant or tax agent before the continuation documents can be released to us.
  3. We will formally issue a request for clearance and for the continuation papers from the retiring accountant.
  4. We do not mediate in any unresolved issues arising from any professional relationships that have terminated before transfer to us.
  5. We reserve the right to refuse an appointment.

Fee charges, agreed in advance, will be applied under our aengagement terms and conditions for from commencement of any assignment.

How do Fixmytax become my agents with the Revenue Commissioners?

We communicate effectively and efficiently with the Revenue Commissioners on your  behalf only when you are registered under our Tax Advisors Identification number (TAIN) with the Revenue Commissioners. 

We will formally request the Revenue Commissioners to add your registration under our agency in order to associate you with our TAIN.

Email us with your business and/or personal tax numbers to tax@fixmytax.com and we will do the rest. 

What records am I required to supply?

We will accept the reports (in electronic formats) from the most popular accounting software products such as EXCEL, QUICKBOOKS, SORT MY BOOKS, SAGE, TAS, BIG RED BOOK, MYOB and many more.

The reports should be produced in CSV/EXCEL compatible formats which can then be emailed to us. 

The following are the financial reports that we require for the year that we are expected to report on:

  • Trial Balance
  • Transactions Listing
  • Nominal Ledger
  • Profit and Loss Account
  • Balance Sheet

We will accept all supporting documents, bank statements and invoices, in the popular formats such as PDF, TIFF, MDI and others that can be emailed to us.

All accounting records must be complete and cover the period under review from the end of the last set of Financial Statements produced for the business. 

We will continue to accept records on paper.

However, all accounting record maintenance is subject to a separate engagement. Terms and conditions and an agreed fee charge will apply.

How are fees determined and charged?

Fees are agreed in advance and charged on the basis of the specific instructions for the assignment work to be carried out. All work is carried out in accordance with a letter of engagement and order form approved by you.

Any work falling outside the agreed engagement terms and conditions will be subject to extra fee charges.

Fees can be paid by the following options:

  • Direct Debit,
  • Credit Card,
  • Laser Card,
  • Cheque,
  • Bank Draft,
  • Bank Transfer,
  • Internet Transfer,
  • Loan Finance.

Bank payment instructions are stated on all our invoices and statements.

Note:

All fees must be paid in full before filings are made. We reserve the right to withhold the filing of tax returns where fees have not been paid in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions. Late filing charges, interest and penalties are the responsibility of the client.

DISCLAIMER

It is our clients' responsibility to ensure that all their tax returns are filed on time.

Our responsibility is limited to assist our clients in meeting this obligation.

All penalties and interest imposed by the Revenue Commissioners (especially for late and or non filing of returns) remain the responsibility of the client.  

All clients are obliged to ensure that all information and supporting documents are supplied to us promptly, completely, efficiently and sufficiently early  to ensure that we have time to carry out our work and to meet the deadlines.

FIXMYTAX.com, its staff or related parent or subsidiary companies, do not accept liability for penalties and interest arising from the late filing of returns.
