Medical Expenses

Medical Expenses not refunded by government or insurance are tax allowable

Some of your medical and non routine dental and optical expenses may be allowable.

You claim an allowance for unreimbursed medical expenses by completing a form MED1 and returning it to your Inspector of Taxes.

For non routine dental expenses you will need a completed form MED2 from your dentist. No relief is given on the first €125 per individual or €250 for a family.

Due to the economic crises, the government has introduced some restrictions to what medical expenses can be claimed.
